Used Trucks Sit on Corners for Sale |

Have you noticed that used trucks are becoming almost a dime a dozen these days? I've been seeing tons of them on the corners of major streets with for sale signs in them. Considering the price of diesel and gas, only people who really need trucks these days for work or farm are buying them. A few years ago, trucks were in pretty good demand, but now that it breaks the bank to fill the tank, people are ditching them in favor of vehicles that get better mileage. Diesel is nearly $5 a gallon, and that's a hefty price to pay to get one of these down the road. Some households are not even selling their used trucks, and just buying gas sipping cars, instead, keeping the truck in the driveway for the occasional trip to the nursery or home improvement store. News reports say that it takes years to recoup the cost of an expensive hybrid in terms of fuel savings, but when you're putting $200 or so in the tank of a diesel truck versus $80 in a hybrid car, I think I'd choose the hybrid over used trucks. |
